Samsung Electronics will unveil a flat-panel TV that's thinner than a dime and measures just 6.5-millimeters at this week's International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Samsung says the new TV set has an LED backlight, which sits behind the LCD panel and generates the light to allow the image to be seen. If Samsung delivers as stated, the new TV will beat Philip's record for the thinnest LCD TV to be demonstrated. Philips has previously unveiled an 8mm prototype LCD television at the IFA electronics show in Berlin last year. More details t come on the new killer TV this Wednesday after Samsung's announcement.
